DIES GROUP research for Neuroscience
Taormina - S. Domenico Palace Hotel
DIES GROUP presented the first prototype of the simulator for neurosurgical interventions at the international congress “New Concepts in Neurosurgical Training: Tips and Tricks” that took place in Taormina on May 22-24, 2008. The prototype, which has been realized in cooperation with the Neurosurgical Clinic of the University of Messina, is the first step towards the development of sophisticated systems dedicated to the simulation of interventions in the neurosurgical field. |

Distance learning in diabetology with ISS
DIES GROUP won the call for bids issued by the Italian Superior Institute of Health (I.S.S.) to create a distance learning course in diabetology. The project sees the creation of 16 modules that will train specialized doctors on the disease. The course will be published online on the Institute’s platform Moodle.

Distance learning course in dermatology with the San Gallicano Institute
The new portal for distance learning in dermatology is now online. The project, born from the collaboration between DIES GROUP and the San Gallicano Dermatology Institute in Rome, with the participation of the Italian Health Ministry, simulates clinical cases of virtual patients suffering from psoriasis. Also participating in the project are the scientific societies A.D.O.I. (the Italian Hospital Dermatologists Association) and SIDeMaST (the Italian Society of Medical and Surgical Dermatology & Sexually Transmitted Diseases).www.fad-dermatologia.it

Simulaction Course for General Practitioners (GPs)
The November training sessions, which are part of the Simulaction programme, took place at the Dies Group Training Centre in Rome this past month.
General practitioners from all of Italy have been part of the interactive training programme, focused on the management of cardiovascular emergency. |

On 15 May 2007 DIES GROUP ITALIA management system for the quality has been declared conformable to the certification UNI EN ISO 9001:2000. The important recognition concerns the allocation of training courses, that are updated continuously in the medical field.

The project HI-Vision is born
Rome, Sheraton Golf Parco dei Medici. The event to launch HI-Vision has taken place at the Sheraton Hotel in Rome. The project, conceived by DIES Group in collaboration with NPS Onlus, SIMIT e INMI L.Spallanzani, has the aim to offer tools of high scientific value, that are useful to improve the adhesion to anti-HIV treatments. DIES Group has developed the operational software, that is at the core of HI-Vision and it has provided for the logistics and communication of the event, in which sector experts and physicians of international notoriety have participated.

DIES participation to the JIM (Joint Interventional Meeting) convention
Rome, Hotel Cavalieri Hilton. DIES Group’s medical simulators are integrated into the convention’s programme, with training courses for doctors, medical attendants and technicians. The program – based on innovative interactive didactic methodologies – is oriented to the treatment of acute coronary syndromes, and it is held by expertises coming from all over Italy.

The company moved to a new registered office and operating base in the centre of Rome, near Trevi Fountain (via della Stamperia). The historical seat in Monteverde/Gianicolo remained operational as a training centre (in via Angelo Masina).

Paediatric training courses
Rome, DIES GROUP Training Centre. 1st Vsign course for the management of out-patient paediatric vaccinations. Theoretical and practical course, with exercises using two simulators that reproduce the anatomy and physiopathology of paediatric patients aged between 3 and 6 months, and 5-7 years, capable of incorporating highly complex physiological models that generate immediate responses to clinical intervention and to the administration of drugs.

DIES' participation at the SIC (Società Italiana di Cardiologia) Congress
Rome, Hotel Cavalieri Hilton. Preparation of a Training Space during the yearly congress of the Società Italiana di Cardiologia (SIC). Congress participants were given access to DIES GROUP simulators, and theoretical-practical training sessions were given by internationally renowned opinion leaders.

Training project for General Medicine physicians
Start of LIFECASE project: training course for the management of emergencies in the cardio-cerebrovascular field. The project offers theoretical-practical training courses for General Medicine physicians, with the use of a simulator reproducing the anatomy and physiopathology of an adult patient, making it possible to recreate the conditions of patients suffering from chronic pathologies. Project aimed at 15,000 GM physicians throughout the country, with the collaboration or backing of different Italian regions, for the duration of 1 year.

Anti-terrorism drill
Rome, Colosseo – San Giovanni-Addolorata Hospital. Participation in anti-terrorism drill of October 3rd, organised by the Prefecture of Rome. DIES GROUP supported the exercise with extremely advanced simulation instruments normally used in its Disaster Management projects to reproduce unique human profiles and realistic clinical contexts. The subsequent medical assistance and practice phase took place at the Rome Hospital of San Giovanni-Addolorata.
